WHAT NOT BRING - Personalization of individual spaces and supporting your lifestyle with personal belongings is an
important facet of living in the residence halls. We want to respect this need, but there are items
that constitute a risk and known threat to residents within 318 Commons. While not a complete
list, the following items are not allowed to be brought into 318 Commons:
-TVs or other items that are mounted on walls
-Illegal substances or paraphernalia
-Firearms or weapons of any kind
-Water devices or 10 gallons or more
-Homemade or non-UMR lofting devices
-Air conditioning units of any kind
-Animals other than fish that can be housed in a 10 gallon or less tank
-Any device that is not UL approved or improperly maintained
-Any device that creates an open flame or has any open heating element.
-Candles with wicks. Please remove the wick from your candle prior to being brought into
the building. No open flame is allowed in 318 Commons.
-Any chemical or substance that has a potential for combustion that is not cooking related
in nature (Fireworks, smoke bombs, fuels, etc.).
-Multi-light, plastic shaded, torchiere, or halogen lamps
-Non-fused, extension cord, or multiple-plug outlets
-Receiving devices, i.e. satellite dishes or large antennae
-Vehicles such as mopeds or motorcycles.
-Weight lifting equipment
